Insights from the Cambridge x Manchester Partnership & E3M event in UK

At Broomx, we believe that technology should not isolate people but rather open new doors to connection, healing, and well-being. Last week, we took a significant step forward in this mission by participating in a landmark workshop hosted by E3M and the Cambridge x Manchester Partnership. The event, held at the vibrant Unit M from Manchester University, brought together visionary minds from Manchester, Cambridge, Catalonia, and beyond. It was a unique melting pot of ideas focused on one transformative goal: harnessing Virtual and Immersive Reality (VR/IR) for training and therapy.

A collaborative vision with Suara Cooperativa

One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to share the stage with our partners at Suara Cooperativa. Together, we showcased the pioneering work we have developed over the last six years across various social care services in Catalonia.

By integrating our immersive technology into real-world care settings, we’ve moved past the “experimental” phase. We are now delivering proven, scalable solutions that transform how social care is perceived and experienced.

Workshop highlights: Immersive reality for mental wellbeing

During the event, we offered an interactive workshop that dove deep into the clinical and emotional benefits of immersive environments. We explored two primary pillars:

  • Mental Wellbeing & Relaxation: How “walls-to-walls” immersive experiences can reduce anxiety and create a safety space for patients, increasing overall engagement with their treatment.
  • Cognitive Rehabilitation: Our innovative programs are specifically designed to stimulate brain activity and help slow cognitive decline in the elderly, as we demonstrated in different projects with older adults.

“It’s not just about the technology; it’s about the human impact. Carefully designed immersive experiences can fundamentally improve the quality of life for those in long-term care.”

Ignasi Capellà, cofounder of Broomx.

Immersive for good

Connecting with like-minded professionals who share our passion for the “Immersive for Good” movement was incredibly energizing. The exchange of ideas with colleagues from the UK and Europe reaffirmed that we are at the forefront of a global shift in healthcare.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the E3M and the Unit M – Cambridge x Manchester Partnership for their warm hospitality and for providing a platform for these vital conversations. Also, to all the participants who attended the event. The future of therapy is no longer confined to four static walls. With immersive technology, those walls can now become a window to a better quality of life. We can’t wait to see where these new partnerships lead us next.
