New research project
Broomx has initiated a project to study the effectiveness of immersive virtual reality in the treatment of individuals with autism in collaboration with the Institut d’Assistència Sanitària de Girona, the IDIBGI, and the Fundació Granés.
A new space equipped with Broomx’s immersive technology has been launched at the Servei de Discapacitat Intel·lectual del Institut d’Assistència Sanitària (IAS), located in the Parc Hospitalari Martí i Julià de Salt.
The Granés Foundation Scholarship will enable research at the IDIBGI on its effectiveness in treating phobias in individuals with ASD.
Treatment of cognitive
and behavioral difficulties
The Institut d’Assistència Sanitària (IAS), the Granés Foundation, and the Institut d’Investigació Biomèdica de Girona (IDIBGI) have presented the immersive virtual reality project, launched at the Intellectual Disability Service of the IAS, in the Parc Hospitalari Martí i Julià de Salt, using Broomx’s MK360 technology. The project is aimed at treating the cognitive and behavioral difficulties of individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and intellectual disabilities and is designed from two approaches: therapeutic and research.
ERVI – Immersive
Virtual Reality Space
On one hand, the collaboration between the Granés Foundation and the IAS has allowed the acquisition of the new immersive virtual reality space, which has been named ERVI Granés Foundation, and the procurement of the necessary technology for its operation, developed by the start-up Broomx. On the other hand, the Granés Foundation and the Biomedical Research Institute of Girona (IDIBGI) are promoting, with this project, the second Granés Foundation Fellowship, aimed at promoting the study of the effectiveness of using immersive virtual reality environments in the treatment of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
