Broomx is proud to announce its pivotal role in the launch of ‘El Espacio Azul’ project, an initiative by Fundación El Gancho and Servicio Andaluz de Salud aimed at improving the mental health of children and teenagers in Andalusia.
What is El Espacio Azul?
El Espacio Azul is designed to be a safe and therapeutic environment for children suffering from mental health issues and other serious conditions such as cancer or those recovering from neurological surgeries. Each space will be equipped with Broomx’s unique MK2 projectors and Broomx platform, which feature over 200 specific contents tailored for emotional well-being and cognitive stimulation. The project has started in Hospital Virgen del Rocío de Sevilla and will be extended to the other 7 main hospitals across Andalusia in Málaga, Granada, Almería, Cádiz, , Córdoba, Huelva and Jaén.
Why is it necessary?
More than 300,000 children and adolescents in Andalusia suffer from a mental health disorders in Andalusia, 47% more since 2020. Chilling figures that have made the El GanchoInfantil Foundation take a step forward to reverse this situation. For the Foundation, this space will be a “friendly tool’ so that children and teenagers with mental health disorders and other pathologies learn to manage anxiety and stress situations through immersive reality technologies. This initiative will also help in terms of visibility to the mental health problems that affect one in every seven young people aged between 10 and 19.
To this end, it will offer informative talks in person and online led by experts and aimed at parents which will expose the current issues faced by young people and their families in terms of mental health.
